Could Saturday’s match between the Revolution and Impact be the largest in club history for the locals?

On Wednesday, Revolution president Brian Bilello tweeted that the club’s regular season home finale may draw close to 40,000 fans.

The largest Revolution regular season stand-alone home crowd at Gillette Stadium came during an Aug. 30, 2008 clash against the LA Galaxy, a game that attracted 39,256.

Last year’s home finale, which pitted the Revolution against Toronto FC, drew 32,766.

Saturday’s game also marks the 20th anniversary of the Revolution’s founding.
