It appears 2016 first-round pick Jordan McCrary made a positive impression with the Revolution right from the jump as the club signed the rookie fullback to a deal on Monday.

The 22-year-old defender was selected by the Revolution with the 10th overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. He played 86 games during his five years at the University of North Carolina, one of which he was forced to redshirt after tearing his ACL during a preseason practice.

McCrary is expected to compete with veterans Darrius Barnes and London Woodberry for the starting right back spot, which was manned by four different players during the 2015 season.

The addition of McCrary brings the Revolution roster to 21 players. The club currently has five players on trial, including midfielder Michael Gamble and forward Femi Hollinger-Janzen, who were selected in the second and third rounds, respectively.

McCrary and his Revolution teammates will depart for Casa Grande, Ariz. on Tuesday, and will train there for 10 days. They are tentatively set to play up to three scrimmages during their stay.
