The winless ways of the Breakers were alive and well in the Garden State on Saturday after they fell 1-0 to Sky Blue FC at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, N.J.

Sam Kerr scored inside of five minutes and Sky Blue never looked back to send the ninth-place Breakers to their eighth straight game without a win (0-4-4)

“It’s frustrating,” Breakers coach Matt Beard told the media after the match. “I thought we created the better chances over the course of the game. I felt we responded well to the (goal). It’s frustrating on our end. We created three to four good chances, and we’ve not managed to put the ball in the back of the net.”

Kerr’s fifth minute strike was her 16th of the year, tying the single-season mark set by Seattle’s Kim Little in 2014.

With the loss, the Breakers fall to 3-10-7 (16 points) while Sky Blue improves to 9-9-2 (29 points).

Boston returns to action on Sept. 2 when they face Orlando Pride in the Sunshine State.
