One preseason trialist who may still be on his way to the New England Revolution is Swedish striker Bj\u00f6rn Runstr\u00f6m. According to Runstr\u00f6m\u2019s agent, Patrick M\u00f6rk, negotiations are ongoing with the club.<\/p>\n

Runstr\u00f6m joined the Revs on trial during their preseason trip to Tucson, Arizona and played in all three group matches of the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup. \u00a0Runstr\u00f6m had the winning goal in the Revs 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake. Though the Revs won all three group matches, Runstr\u00f6m, along with 17-year-old Diego Fagundez, were the only forwards to score for the Revs during the tournament.<\/p>\n

Runstr\u00f6m, 28, most recently played for Hammarby IF in the Swedish second division. His contract with Hammarby was not renewed after a reported disagreement with head coach Greg Berhalter, a former U.S. International. Runstrom, a 6-foot-1 forward, was also on the books at Danish SuperLiga club Odense Boldklub (2008-2011), English Premier League club Fulham FC (2006-2008), and Italian clubs ACF Fiorentina (2003-2004), A.C. ChievoVerona (2002-2003) and Bologna F.C. (2001-2002).<\/p>\n

Runstr\u00f6m has also had loan spells with Norway\u2019s Molde FK (2010-11), Luton Town F.C. (2007), a lower division English club, and German club 1. FC Kaiserslautern (2007-08). The Swede\u2019s best years came in his initial stint at Hammarby from 2004 till 2006 when he scored 22 goals, earning a move to Fulham for a reported fee of around $1.1 million.<\/p>\n

Should Runstr\u00f6m sign, he\u2019ll be the Revs fifth addition \u2013 excluding rookies \u2013 at forward the season. The Revs have already added French Sa\u00ebr S\u00e8ne, Colombian Fernando Cardenas, former D.C. United striker Blake Brettschneider, and are awaiting the arrival of Colombian Jose \u201cPepe\u201d Moreno.<\/p>\n

M\u00f6rk also tweeted another interesting bit of information: Boston College product Alejandro Bedoya, who many speculated may be headed to MLS due to Glasgow Rangers\u2019 financial troubles, will stay in Scotland with Rangers at least until the summer.<\/p>\n
