Sometimes, you can go back home. Just ask former Revolution midfielder\/forward Ryan Kinne.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the Naugatuck<\/span>,\u00a0Conn. native joined CFC Azul<\/span> for the upcoming PDL season with the hopes of returning to the professional ranks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRyan has pace, skill, and determination. He is a winner, and a great signing for the club,” said Azul<\/span> head coach David Kelly said in a statement. “Like a few others that will be playing for the Azul<\/span> this summer, this is just a stepping-stone in his career.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Kinne played in one game for the Revolution in 2011, coming on as a subsitute in the final minute of the team’s 2-1 win over D.C. He played 10 games for the team’s reserves.<\/p>\n

The Revolution re-signed Kinne<\/span> during the offseason<\/span>, but he was among the team’s final cuts after the preseason concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Kinne returns to his home state in an effort to relaunch his promising career.<\/p>\n

“It’s nice to see professional soccer making a comeback in Connecticut,\u201d Kinne<\/span> said in a statement. \u201cI am excited to be part of the inaugural season for Azul<\/span> and am looking forward to making it a very successful one.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kelly is optimistic that the native son will cash in on the opportunity to re-start his playing career an Azul uniform.<\/p>\n

“I have known Ryan since he was 10 years old,” Kelly said. “We’re happy he’s decided to play for us this summer; and we will be proud when he moves on to bigger and better things… which he no doubt will.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
