After failing to find the field with the first team this season,\u00a0Revolution midfielder\/forward Kenny Mansally was waived by the club on Friday.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old Gambian international, who played in 25 games last season, was limited to reserve team duty in 2012. In his lone appearance (Apr. 9 vs. Philadelphia) with the reserves, he scored two goals. But given the team’s considerable depth at midfield and forward, it appeared that Mansally’s days in Foxboro were all but numbered.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to wish Kenny all the best as he moves into the next stage of his career,\u201d General Manager Michael Burns said in a statement. \u201cKenny was always a professional in his time with us and we wish him well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mansally was originally signed by the Revolution in September 2007\u00a0following an impressive showing\u00a0at the U-20 World Cup in Canada. He went on to play in 89 games (47 starts) for New England, tallying seven goals and collecting five assists.<\/p>\n

In addition to his contributions at the club level, Mansally also recorded 10 caps (one goal) with the Gambia National Team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
