The Australian striker broke a scoreless tie when she grabbed a Jessica Luscinski pass and put it through in the 56th minute. Alice Binns made a pair of sensational saves en route to her second straight clean sheet.<\/p>\n
“I promised her one for Mother\u2019s Day,” Simon said of her goal. “It was her request. She said, \u2019don\u2019t make a promise you can\u2019t keep.\u2019”<\/p>\n
Boston’s attack put nine shots on DC keeper Didi Haracic, who saved all but Simon’s to keep the match close.\u00a0 Holly King forced two shots on frame for the hosts, but it wasn’t enough against Binn.<\/p>\n
