The seventh ranked Boston College women\u2019s soccer team earned a 1-1 draw after overtime at defending National Champions Stanford on Friday night. Preseason favorites and currently fourth ranked Stanford (2-1-1) had won 51 straight matches at home prior to the draw.<\/p>\n
BC (3-0-1), who remained undefeated with the draw, fell behind early when Natalie Griffen chipped a shot over goalkeeper Alexa Gaul in the 11th minute.<\/p>\n
The Eagles would respond in the 56th minute through Stephanie McCaffrey, who finished off a pass from Kristen Mewis for her third goal of the season.<\/p>\n
The Eagles outshot the Cardinal 17-12. Gaul made five saves in the draw, while Stanford\u2019s Aly Gleason made four saves.<\/p>\n
Stanford eliminated BC in the Sweet 16 round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament on their way to the title.<\/p>\n
