It may not have been as dramatic as a late-season playoff push, but a pair of\u00a0strong crowds\u00a0present for the\u00a0Revolution’s final two games was enough to raise their attendance figure out of the cellar.<\/p>\n

Thanks to a combined 49,898 fans who arrived for New England’s Sept. 22\u00a0and Oct. 20 home matches at Gillette Stadium, the club’s attendance rank went from 19th to 16th in MLS.<\/p>\n

Prior to their penultimate home game, New England’s average home attendance ranked last in the league with a figure of 12,542.<\/p>\n

But with the Red Bulls in town on Sept. 22,\u00a0they nearly doubled that number by drawing\u00a024,364.\u00a0Four weeks later,\u00a0a season-high\u00a025,534 fans arrived\u00a0for the\u00a0home\u00a0finale against the Fire on Oct. 22.<\/p>\n

With the home slate complete, the\u00a0club’s average on the 2012 season finished at 14,001 – a figure marginally higher\u00a0 (0.9 percent) than their 2011 average (13,222).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Seattle, Montreal and Los Angeles all held steady at the top of the attendance table.<\/p>\n
