Mass Premier Soccer and Mass United FC claimed victories in Sunday’s National Amateur Cup qualifiers.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mass Premier Soccer (BSSL)\u00a0and Mass United FC\u00a0(MSSL) both claimed victories in Sunday’s first round of\u00a0National Amateur Cup qualifying\u00a0matches.<\/p>\n

MPS grabbed a 1-0 win over Lowell Portuguese (MSSL) at Wayland High School in Wayland. T.J. Thompson scored the game-winner in the 55th minute.<\/p>\n

Closer to the Hub, Mass United grabbed a 4-3 victory against Middlesex FC (BSSL)\u00a0at Lawrence Memorial Stadium in Lawrence. The Riders ran out to an early lead thanks to\u00a0a brace from\u00a0Alencar “Junior” Ventura, along with\u00a0goals from Denivaldo DaSilva and Rigoberto Jimenez. But Middlesex refused to make it easy,\u00a0thanks to\u00a0a pair of goals from Ocane Williamson, who also set up a penalty for Steve Rose.<\/p>\n

MPS and Mass United will meet\u00a0for a second round Amateur Cup showdown during the weekend\u00a0of Nov. 10.<\/p>\n
