Diego Fagundez and Fabio Machado, Jr. each clocked in three-goal efforts for the Revolution Youth Acamedy during this weekend’s U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase in Phoenix, Arizona.<\/p>\n

Fagundez struck once against Minnesota Thunder Academy on Sunday in a 2-1 loss, then followed up with a brace against Sporting Juniors on Monday during a 2-0 victory for the Revolution U-16s. Machado picked up a brace against Minnesota in a 4-2 on Sunday, and added another against Sporting Juniors in a 3-1 win for the Revolution U-18s.<\/p>\n

Through five matches, Fagundez has scored an astonishing eight goals, while Machado matched his goal total of last season through only five matches.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Revolution youth squads could only boast a mixed bag of success at the Showcase.<\/p>\n

The Revolution U-16s went 1-2-0 with losses to North Carolina Fusion (3-1) and Minnesota Thunder Academy (2-1) and a win over Sporting Juniors (3-1). The only other goalscorer for the U-16s besides Fagundez was Peguy Ngatcha, who notched a 12th minute goal in the Minnesota contest.<\/p>\n

The Revolution U-18s enjoyed a smidge more success than their underclassmen as they went 2-1-0 with victories over Minnesota (4-2) and Sporting Juniors (3-1). Their only loss came at the hands of North Carolina (1-0).<\/p>\n

Daniel Tchen put together a solid perfromance as he scored twice for the Revs U-18s with goals against Minnesota and North Carolina. Cole Denormandie added a goal in the 4-2 victory over Minnesota, while Matthew Keys aided the the U-18s with a goal of his own in the 3-1 win over Sporting.<\/p>\n

The next action for the Youth Acadmy will come on March 5, 2011 against the NJSA at Gillette Stadium. The U-16s match begins at 12:00pm, while the U-18s face off at 10:00am.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
