Second round pick Luke Spencer and journeyman midfielder Olivier Kapo were among the trialists whose names are not listed on the latest New England Revolution preseason roster, which was\u00a0released on Monday.<\/p>\n
Spencer, who was taken 23rd overall in\u00a0last month’s\u00a0SuperDraft, was a spectator for the first full day of preseason. He played the second 30 minutes of the club’s three-period preseason match against Sporting K.C., but did not play in the Whitecaps game.<\/p>\n
Kapo, who\u00a0was slated to join\u00a0the team on trial in Casa Grande, did not play in either of the club’s preseason matches. At Monday’s Revolution Supporters Summit, Revolution general manager Michael Burns revealed that Kapo had signed a six month contract with\u00a0a\u00a0European club.<\/p>\n
Antigua & Barbuda midfielder Quinton Griffith played in both preseason matches, but is no longer listed on the roster. Supplemental draft picks Alex De John and\u00a0Chris Thomas, both of whom\u00a0saw action in Casa Grande,\u00a0are also absent from the latest roster.<\/p>\n
Though\u00a0Spencer,\u00a0Griffith, De John and\u00a0Thomas\u00a0are\u00a0not in camp, their absences do not necessarily mean\u00a0they are gone for good. Last year, trialist Jeremiah White did not travel back to Foxboro following their trip to Casa Grande. He later re-joined the club in Tucson for the Desert Diamond Cip and\u00a0eventually signed a deal prior to the 2012\u00a0season.<\/p>\n
The lone supplemental draft pick still in camp\u00a0is Elon midfielder Gabe Latigue.\u00a0Defender Bilal Duckett and midfielder\/defender Donnie Smith\u00a0also remain with the club, as\u00a0do\u00a0goalkeepers\u00a0Tim Murray and\u00a0Luis Soffner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
