The Boston Breakers continued to build their roster this week with the signings of forward Lianne Sanderson and defender Kia McNeill.<\/p>\n
Sanderson, whose resume includes stops at Arsenal, Chelsea and Espanyol, has eight goals in 29 appearances with the England national team. She also played in the 2007 World Cup where she helped lead England to the semi-finals.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s an experienced veteran, she\u2019s versatile, and attack-minded player. She\u2019ll score goals for us,\u201d Breakers Head Coach Lisa Cole said in a statement. \u201cShe also has great leadership and charisma on and off the field. I\u2019m excited we got her.\u201d<\/p>\n
McNeill, who played collegiately at Boston College and currently serves as an assistant coach, kicked off her professional career with St. Louis Athletica in 2009, before moving on to Atlanta (2010) and Philadelphia (2011).<\/p>\n
“I\u2019ve called Boston my second home since 2004 when I came here as a college player, then returned as an assistant coach and as a grad student,” McNeil said in a statement. “I\u2019m looking forward to working with Lisa Cole and being a part of a team with all the support in place to win a championship.\u201d<\/p>\n
