The Rochester Rhinos dropped their first game of the preseason in a 1-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Sunday at Sahlen’s Stadium.<\/p>\n
Darren Amoo scored the solitary goal in the 46th minute to give the guests the win. The Rochester loss drops them to 1-1-0 on the preseason.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur main objective was to continue to build our match fitness,” Rhinos head coach Jesse Myers said in a statement. “We got our guys 45 to 60 minutes tonight. I thought it was really a match that was played box-to-box without a lot of chances for either team. We were missing seven players we are expecting to play a significant role for us this season. That’s fairly typical for this time of year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Myers made a slew of changes to start the second half, and the Riverhounds pounced immediately. From a Stefan Lundberg cross, Amoo sent it through to score.<\/p>\n
Rochester returns to action on\u00a0Friday when they host Syracuse University men’s soccer team at 5pm.<\/p>\n
