The New England Revolution acquired striker Juan Agudelo in a trade with Chivas USA on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old was acquired in exchange for allocation money.<\/p>\n

Agudelo is currently in his fourth season in Major League Soccer after making his debut in 2010 as a product of the New York Red Bulls youth system. He has made 17 caps for the United States Men’s National Team and has scored two goals for the senior squad. He’s scored 16 goals in 26 appearances for the younger national teams, including the U23s, U20s, and U17s.<\/p>\n

In MLS play, Agudelo has 59 career appearances with 11 goals and six assists between Chivas USA – 26 appearances – and New York – 33 appearances.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very pleased we were able to complete this deal with Chivas USA,\u201d general manager Michael Burns said in a press release. \u201cWhile Juan is a young player with tremendous potential, he also already has a lot of experience both inside our league and internationally with the US national team. We believe Juan will improve our attack and make us a better team.”<\/p>\n

Agudelo was brought in to help a struggling Revolution offense who has only scored \u00a0three goals in eight games. The striker’s two goals led Chivas USA in scoring this season and with the transaction, Agudelo now technically leads the Revolution in scoring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
