We&#8217;ll keep you posted if anything develops. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brazilian International Fred, who was selected by the New England Revolution in the second round of last month\u2019s MLS Re-entry Process, appears to be on the verge of signing with the club, according to his Twitter feed.<\/p>\n<p>In a Twitter conversation with former Union teammate Amobi Okugo (@<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/amobisays\" target=\"_blank\">amobisays<\/a>), Fred (@<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/freddasilva_7\" target=\"_blank\">FreddaSilva_7<\/a>) suggested that Okugo would still have to worry about getting nutmegged by the Brazilian because, \u201cI will play Against you\u201d, suggesting that Fred will be in MLS next season. Fred further hinted a return when SB Nation\u2019s Scott Kessler (@<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/scottdkessler\" target=\"_blank\">scottdkessler<\/a>) joined the conversation tweeting,\u00a0\u201cMake sure that continues during games against the Rev!\u201d, to which Fred replied, \u201cI will hahahaha.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Initially, it was reported that Fred had sought a move back to either Brazil or Australia\u2019s A-League, where had won a championship in the 2006-07 season with the Melbourne Victory. \u00a0Fred, who is capable of playing on the left and right sides of midfield, was most recently with the Philadelphia Union (2010).<\/p>\n<p>He won the Supporters\u2019 Shield in 2007 and the U.S. Open Cup in 2008 with D.C. United and posted 15 goals and 17 assists in 97 career MLS appearances, including four goals and an assist in 25 games (24 starts) with Philadelphia last season. Fred had previously played for Brazilian clubs Tupi, Am\u00e9rica and Guarani prior to his tenure in MLS.
