By the time it was over, though, they had claimed their second straight league title.<\/p>\n<p>Dircilino DeBrito\u00a0scored a pair of first half goals while\u00a0Christopher Arruda added another late to help give Fall River a 3-1 win over Safira at Billy Gonsalves Field, and more importantly, the three points it needed to leapfrog Taunton Eagles at the top of the table.<\/p>\n<p>DeBrito scored in the 14th and 28th minutes, while Arruda tallied in the 84th minute. Safira scored its goal in the 47th minute.<\/p>\n<p>Fall River finished the 2013 season with a 8-2-1 (25 points) record, edging the Eagles, who went 8-3-0 (24 points).<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, Fall River will face the Eagles on Saturday in the second leg of first round LUSA Cup action at Shores Street Field in Taunton.
