With Saturday\u2019s\u00a0clash between\u00a0the New England Revolution (1-2-1,\u00a04 point)\u00a0and\u00a0D.C. United\u00a0(0-2-1,\u00a01 point)\u00a0at\u00a0rickety RFK\u00a0Stadium\u00a0only hours away, let\u2019s take one last look at what the coaches and players were saying in the days leading up to it.<\/p>\n

Revolution coach Jay Heaps (via revolutionsoccer.net):<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The game plan will change (from last week). Mentally how we approached the game, we want to keep it the same. But in terms of the two different types of\u00a0teams, what we like to do is show a rhythm of team and we\u00a0also show\u00a0their strengths.(D.C.’s) pretty dynamic with (Fabian) Espindola and (Eddie) Johnson up top, and how (Nick) Deleon reacts and I thought Davy Arnaud in that game(brought)\u00a0a pretty good change of pace.”<\/em><\/p>\n

D.C. United goalkeeping coach (and former Revs goalkeeper) Preston Burpo (via dcunited.com):<\/strong><\/p>\n

“New England has some crafty players. They have Nguyen running around in there, they have [Diego] Fagundez and [Sa\u00ebr] Sene coming in from the wide spots and [Daigo] Kobayashi was in there last weekend against San Jose, and he looked active. Our midfield and defenders are going to have to deal with those guys because cause they pop into different spots. So we need to keep things tight there.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Revolution captain Jose Goncalves (via revolutionsoccer.net):<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Yeah, it’s going to be difficult because they are awaiting their first win, and they are playing at home, and they want to get their first win at home. (But)\u00a0for us, it’s another game, a new week, and we are definitely looking for three points also.\u00a0It’s not because\u00a0we play away\u00a0and we want to take a point. (We) know we start each game (wanting) to take three points.”<\/em><\/p>\n

D.C. United fullback Sean Franklin (via dcunited.com):<\/strong><\/p>\n

“(Chicago) got a goal to tie it up (last week) and it’s frustrating. But it’s getting better\u00a0for our\u00a0team.
