Revolution winger Donnie Smith became the fourth player loaned to the Rochester Rhinos on Wednesday, joining fellow MLS teammates Luis Soffner, Alec Sundly and Jossimar Sanchez on the USL-PRO side. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Smith, 23, has two career MLS starts to his credit, the most recent coming against Philadelphia on Mar. 15. A midfielder by trade, Smith also spent time at left back during the 2014 preseason while Chris Tierney recovered from a foot injury. He played in each of the club’s seven preseason games, and collected an assist in a Feb. 4 contest vs. Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
With Smith en route to Rochester, the Revolution have now reached the four-player loan allotment contained in its affiliation deal with the USL-PRO side, though the local XI can loan additional players as it sees fit. Additionally, any of the four can be recalled by the Revolution\u00a0at any time.<\/p>\n
