Another hurdle awaits Clyde Simms in his battle with kidney disease.<\/p>\n

Due to complications from the kidney transplant he received last week, the former Revolution midfielder will require another transplant, according to a report from MLSSoccer.com.<\/a><\/p>\n

Simms was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis<\/em> (FSGS)\u00a0as a teen, and was forced to retire earlier this year after his kidney function dropped to 20 percent. The disease required him to undergo dialysis. After it dropped to 14 percent, Simms placed himself on the national wait list for a transplant.<\/p>\n

Following his retirement, Simms stayed local by starting up\u00a0Rev\u2019d Indoor Cycling, a spin class studio located in Dedham, Mass. Additionally, he made public appeals to raise awareness about\u00a0kidney disease, including the #OurFriendClyde campaign, which was targeted to the MLS community.<\/p>\n
