It appears that former Revolution striker Juan Agudelo is one step closer to re-joining the squad he starred for two years ago as ESPNFC.com is reporting that\u00a0the 22-year-old\u00a0is close to signing a four-year deal with New England<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the report,\u00a0Agudelo is set to sign a new deal that will keep him in Foxborough through 2018. The value of the contract has not yet been disclosed, but he is eligible to ink a Young Designated Player Deal, which would limit any cap hit to $200,000.<\/a><\/p>\n

News of Agudelo’s rumored move to New England was first reported on Monday by goal.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Agudelo scored seven goals and added an assist\u00a0in 14 games for the Revolution in 2013, helping them reach the playoffs for the first time in four years. He was originally acquired by the club in a May 2013 deal that sent allocation money to Chivas USA.<\/p>\n

During his time with the Revolution, the squad scored 2.14 goals per game in the 14 games he played, but averaged nearly a full goal less (1.25) in the 12 games he missed due to hamstring and knee injuries.<\/p>\n
