Typically, trialists are barred from speaking to the press until a contract is signed. Then again, A.J. Soares has not been your typical trialist, at least through the eyes of the Norwegian media.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the former Revolution center back spoke to aftenbladet.no<\/em> about his current trial <\/a>with Tippeligaen squad Viking FK, whom he joined for a tryout this weekend.<\/p>\n

“You can see it’s a good club with good resources,” Soares told the outlet. “They try to take care of their players, and that’s important for football. I’ve really enjoyed it so far.”<\/p>\n

While Soares said he’s enjoyed his brief time with the club so far, he undertook a cautious approach when asked about\u00a0his immediate future.<\/p>\n

“It’s too early to say ‘Oh, I want a contract,’ or anything like that,” Soares said. “Right now, I just need to focus and try to play well and impress the coach.”<\/p>\n
