A week after taking a 3-0 beating from the Sounders in Seattle, the Revolution will head\u00a0east to face expansion side New York City FC. The Bronx-based side is coming off a 1-1 draw to fellow MLS newcomer Orlando City SC at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.<\/p>\n

Here are few things to know about New York City FC:<\/p>\n

– Former Real Salt Lake boss Jason Kreis serves as head coach. During his time in Salt Lake, he recorded an impressive\u00a07-2-3 record against the Revolution.\u00a0In his last meeting against the Revolution, he oversaw a Salt Lake side that claimed a 2-1 win at Gillette Stadium on May 8, 2013.\u00a0 Kreis spent part of last year in England with NYC FC parent club Manchester City learning about the club’s coaching philosophy.<\/p>\n

– The expansion side features two former Revolution strikers: Patrick Mullins and Tony Taylor. Both players were selected in last year’s expansion draft. Mullins\u00a0spoke to\u00a0NESoccerToday.com<\/em> in January about the move to NYC FC:<\/p>\n

“I think the sweet part is that I\u2019m going to a good situation, and a place where I can succeed as a player. As much as I\u2019ll miss New England, I still have to focus on my career and moving forward.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

– U.S. International Mix Diskerud scored the club’s first – and so far, only – goal last week in Orlando.\u00a0He was named to MLSSoccer.com’s Team of the Week for week 1.<\/p>\n

– Spanish International\u00a0David Villa, formerly of Barcelona, serves as the club captain. He played in Spain’s 4-0 drubbing of the U.S. in a Jun. 4, 2011 friendly at Gillette Stadium. <\/a><\/p>\n

– Longtime Chelsea star Frank Lampard was signed to a designated player deal by the club last summer, but will not join the side until his current loan with Manchester City expires in May.<\/p>\n

– New York City’s other major backer is MLB’s New York Yankees. The squad will play its home games at Yankee Stadium until a soccer specific stadium is built.<\/p>\n

-The club went 2-2-1 during the preseason, including a 2-1 win over St. Mirren (Scotland) in which Taylor scored.<\/p>\n
