Revolution general manager Michael Burns told\u00a0season ticket holders\u00a0on Wednesday\u00a0that the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA)\u00a0between the\u00a0Players Union and the league\u00a0has cut MLS rosters from 30 to 28.<\/p>\n

Burns, who was speaking at the Revolution’s annual Season-ticket Holder Welcome Event at Gillette Stadium, disclosed the information in response to a question about the size of the club’s roster, which currently\u00a0stands at 25.<\/p>\n

According to a source, the new CBA contains\u00a0additional\u00a0new rules about roster composition, but would not detail those changes until “it’s official.”<\/p>\n

The Revolution general manager also confirmed that the club plans to loan four players to its USL affiliate, the Rochester Rhinos. The Rhinos 2015 campaign commences on Mar. 28 against the New York Red Bulls (II).<\/p>\n

Other items discussed at Wednesday’s event: Revolution coach Jay Heaps confirmed that former center back A.J. Soares, who signed with Norway’s Viking FK last month,\u00a0nearly returned to the club two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Burns advised that midfielder Teal Bunbury suffered a separated shoulder during the season opener at Seattle. Heaps said that Bunbury’s status is “week-to-week.” Heaps also confirmed that midfielder Jermaine Jones, who underwent sports hernia surgery last month,\u00a0will return to training next week.<\/p>\n
