The New England Revolution loaned midfielder Tyler Rudy and midfielder\/forward Timi Mulgrew to its USL affiliate, the Rochester Rhinos, on Friday. <\/p>\n

The Revolution can recall either player at any time during the period of the loan.<\/p>\n

Rudy, 21, was signed on Feb. 25, 2015 after the former Georgetown Hoya went undrafted. Rudy had seven goals and 12 assists in 88 appearances for the Hoyas while being names a second team All-Big East and reaching the College Cup Final in 2012. <\/p>\n

Rudy made five appearances during the 2015 preseason, starting once and playing a total of 172 minutes. Rudy has not made his MLS debut, but was available on the bench for the Revolution\u2019s recent 0-0 draw with the Montreal Impact on Mar. 21.<\/p>\n

The D.C. United\u00a0Academy alumnus\u00a0joins a midfield already filled with veteran players returning to Rochester from the 2014 squad, including Tony Walls, Johnny Mendoza, and Mike Garzi.<\/p>\n

Mulgrew, 22, was signed by the Revolution on Mar. 18, 2015, after a successful trial in which he played in every preseason game, which including one start, an assist, for a total of 218 minutes. He scored 26 goals and had 12 assists in 74 games with George Mason and was named a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection in 2014 after a 13 goal season, which included seven game-winning goals.<\/p>\n

The versatile Mulgrew joins a USL squad which only scored 29 goals in 2014, of which only nine were scored by players returning to the team for 2015. Mulgrew might find opportunity to crack the starting 11 to add some firepower to a lineup which lost Jimmy Banks, the Rhinos\u2019 leading goalscorer in 2014.<\/p>\n

The Rhinos will face the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n
