FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Revolution midfielder Daigo Kobayashi was absent from training on Wednesday as the club prepares for its debut match against expansion side Orlando City SC on Friday.<\/p>\n

Kobayashi, who suffered a hamstring injury earlier this season, was recently removed from the club’s injury report. However, after he was not spotted during passing and possession drills, doubt was cast on his availability for the trip to the Citrus Bowl.<\/p>\n

Prior to his hamstring injury, the veteran midfielder was among the league’s most accurate passers with an 87 percent passing accuracy number.<\/p>\n

Here are some other notable items from Wednesday’s training session: <\/p>\n

*Revolution center back Jose Goncalves was seen jogging along the sidelines while the rest of his teammates worked on stretching exercises. Goncalves has not started since he suffered a calf strain at Colorado last month. He came on in the second half of last week’s match against the Red Bulls.<\/p>\n

*Jay Heaps, Lee Nguyen, Teal Bunbury and Juan Agudelo all met with the media prior Wednesday’s training. <\/p>\n

*Agudelo briefly touched upon his training stint with Orlando City last summer, a time in which he was looking for a new club after his deal with Stoke City fell through. “I know they have a good manager (Adrian Heath), and the training sessions while I was there were really good. The team’s really good.”<\/p>\n

*Bunbury talked about the rapport he has with Agudelo and Charlie Davies, and how each of the attacking trio has fed off each other. “It\u2019s a lot of fun. I love playing with those guys. They bring the best out of me, and it\u2019s always exciting, fun and enjoyable and we try to work on a lot of things in training and try to implement those things in the game.”<\/p>\n

*Nguyen spoke about the conditions he and his teammates are expecting in their first trip to typically-steamy Orlando: “We have to try to get acclimated, and try to hydrate, because we know it’s going to be a hot game.”<\/p>\n
