Revolution midfielder Diego Fagundez earned a spot on the MLS Team of the Week for week 20 after an impressive performance against New York City FC on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old Homegrown Player assisted on Lee Nguyen’s game-winning goal in the 12th minute, and also completed 83.3 percent of his passes.<\/p>\n

He was also the second-highest Revolution rated player according to whoscored.com<\/em>, which bases its ratings on statistical data compiled by OPTA.<\/p>\n

Following the match, Revolution coach Jay Heaps had nothing but praise for his creative midfielder.<\/p>\n

“I thought Diego was very good tonight,” Heaps said. “I thought he brought the right mindset and it was an aggressive plan on our end because we want Diego to be in those attacking positions and what we ask of him is to really put that effort in defensively. Tonight, I thought that he was really good on both sides of the ball.”<\/p>\n

MLS Team of the Week for Week 20<\/span><\/p>\n

GK: Clint Irwin (Colorado Rapids) – The 26-year-old made a couple huge saves to preserve the shutout for the Rapids as they beat the Sounders in Seattle.<\/p>\n

D: Drew Moor (Colorado Rapids) – The first-time All-Star showed why he deserved to get the nod in the Rapids win.<\/p>\n

D: Matt Miazga (New York Red Bulls) – Despite being up a man for most of the game, Miazga was forced to put on another dazzling defensive performance in Orlando.<\/p>\n

D: Waylon Francis (Columbus Crew SC) – Part of a shutout in one game, and collected an assist in the other as Francis helped Crew SC take home all six points this week.<\/p>\n

M: Ethan Finlay (Columbus Crew SC) – The league’s assist leader didn’t let his All-Star snub get him down, notching a goal and assist over two games against the Fire.<\/p>\n

M: Mauro Diaz (FC Dallas) \u2013 Showed some more Mauro magic on Saturday night as he inspired FC Dallas to a 2-1 win over D.C. United.<\/p>\n

M: Steven Gerrard (LA Galaxy) \u2013 Not a bad MLS debut for the Englishman, as he tallied a goal and an assist in LA\u2019s comeback win over the Quakes.<\/p>\n

M: Diego Fagundez (New England Revolution) \u2013 <\/strong>A thorn in the side of NYCFC all game long: had a picture-perfect assist on the goal to cap off a positive, mistake-free outing in the Revs’ 1-0 win.<\/p>\n

F: Kei Kamara (Columbus Crew SC) \u2013 Kamara’s athleticism and sharp movement allowed him to add two more goals to his league-leading tally.<\/p>\n

F: Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC) – The Atomic Ant showed yet again why he is the MVP of the league so far. He absolutely dominated a 10-minute stretch that ended with TFC up 2-0 on their way to a win over the Union.<\/p>\n

F: Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) – Showed he\u2019s still the man for the Galaxy with his second straight hat trick in MLS play in the win over San Jose.<\/p>\n

Coach: Gregg Berhalter (Columbus Crew SC) – Columbus has been one of the most inconsistent teams in MLS this year but they got things straight with two wins over the Fire this week.<\/p>\n
