It was a promising start to the preseason fixture list for the Revolution on Wednesday as the locals scored early and never looked back in their 2-0 exhibition win over the San Jose Earthquakes at Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Ariz.<\/p>\n

Midfielder Kelyn Rowe put the Revolution on solid ground early when he blasted a shot from 25 yards into the back of the net in the 26th minute. Forward Charlie Davies widened the gap in the 45th minute when he volleyed through a loose ball inside the box.<\/p>\n

Revolution coach Jay Heaps made wholesale changes to his lineup in the second half, and San Jose nearly took advantage on a handful of occasions. Goalkeeper Brad Knighton was called upon to make a 61st minute save on Shea Salinas, while trialist Josh Phillips was forced to snuff out a chance created by Tyler Thompson in the 76th minute.<\/p>\n

With the win, the Revolution jump out to 1-0-0 wintertime record for the second straight year.<\/p>\n
