Albania United SC (BSSL) and Mass United FC (ASL) kicked off the opening match of the New England Champions League with a fury in Thursday’s 3-3 draw at Arlington High School in Arlington, Mass.<\/p>\n
Romeo Zeqo and A.J. Hazard put Albania United atop by two goals before Jeff Thomas restored the cushion not long after. <\/p>\n
But Mass United mounted frenzied comeback on goals from Majid Saeed and Mohamed Saeed before it was all said and done in the Group A opener. <\/p>\n
The New England Champions League states that it is “dedicated to offering soccer clubs and players of all ages a platform to compete at their highest level.” The first edition of the tournament was held in 2016, and BSSL’s Southie FC claimed the first championship.<\/p>\n
Lynn United, Southie FC, and New England Football Club will also be competing in this year’s tournament. <\/p>\n
