FOXBOROUGH, Mass. \u2013 Serbians Marko Perovic and Ilija Stolica are no longer members of the New England Revolution after their contract options were declined today. Perovic and Stolica both signed with the club last season.<\/p>\n

Perovic, the team\u2019s MVP in 2010, was a vital part of the team\u2019s offense this season before undergoing season-ending knee surgery on his left knee on June 2nd. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder scored seven goals and added three assists in 29 games since joining the Revs on March 26, 2010. According to Boston Herald reporter Kyle McCarthy\u2019s twitter, Perovic asked that the Revs and league not exercise his option.<\/p>\n

Stolica, who signed for the Revs on July 30, 2010, became the Revs starting striker in the second half of last season. The 31-year-old tallied three goals and two assists in thirteen starts last season. Stolica lost his starting spot to Zack Schilawski to start 2011, but did score one goal in two substitute appearances this season. With the signing of Rajko Lekic, Stolica appeared surplus to the requirements and was subsequently loaned to USL-Pro squad FC New York on April 29th.<\/p>\n
