Matt Reis<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 7.75<\/strong> (Brian 7.5, Sean 8 )
\nSingle-handedly saved the Revs from defeat; solid stops, good positioning, and anchored an otherwise porous defense. (Brian) \u2026 Man of the Match. Bailed out his backline time and time again. (Sean)<\/p>\n

Chris Tierney<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 6.25<\/strong> (Brian 6.5, Sean 6)
\nLaser-guided cross to McCarthy sets up the game-winner; somewhat lax defense at left back, but nothing egregious. (Brian) \u2026 Quality set pieces as usual and held his own at left back. (Sean)<\/p>\n

A.J. Soares<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 7<\/strong> (Brian 7, Sean 7)
\nOne of his finest games of the season: smothered Dwayne DeRosario, forced some awkward shots, and communicated well with Reis. \u00a0(Brian) \u2026 Stayed strong \u2013 and smart \u2013 against D.C.\u2019s pacy and creative attackers. (Sean)<\/p>\n

Ryan Cochrane<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 4<\/strong> (Brian 4, Sean 4)
\nLeft foot injury clearly hampered his form as the Rosario and Charlie Davies regularly exploited the central defense. (Brian) \u2026 Looked slow before leaving injured. (Sean)<\/p>\n

Kevin Alston<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 4.25<\/strong> (Brian 4, Sean 4.5)
\nAverage in the defending third, but failed to track back in transition. (Brian) \u2026 Didn\u2019t venture forward, yet still failed to track back in a few dangerous situations. Used his pace well to recover a few times. (Sean)<\/p>\n

Pat Phelan<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 5.25<\/strong> (Brian 5, Sean 5.5)
\nSurprisingly quiet performance. Played level-headed, and avoided dumb tackles and wild challenges. (Brian) \u2026 Rarely turned the ball over and played smart when the Revs were in possession, but didn\u2019t have the impact defensively he often does. (Sean)<\/p>\n

Shalrie Joseph<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 5.25<\/strong> (Brian 5, Sean 5.5)
\nGave the Revs some early bite, but failed to settle the midfield. Forays at forward almost sprang a Sainey Nyassi goal late. (Brian) \u2026 Revs benefited from having his leadership and vision back on the field. Fantastic job on the Revs late break to find Nyassi.<\/p>\n

Stephen McCarthy<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 7<\/strong> (Brian 7, Sean 7)
\nEven before the game-winner, the former Tar Heel was a force on the field. Service was good, positioning excellent, and found a nose for goal. (Brian) \u2026 Passing was much improved, as was his defensive play. Great finish, though he did poorly with an earlier chance. (Sean)<\/p>\n

Zack Schilawski<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 4<\/strong> (Brian 4, Sean 4)
\nLost out on the wing; service poor, appeared uncomfortable, but almost steered a header through after the hour. (Brian) \u2026 Works hard, but he\u2019s not left footed, making it hard for him to provide with while playing on the left flank. Should\u2019ve done better with his header. (Sean)<\/p>\n

Zak Boggs<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 4.75<\/strong> (Brian 4, Sean 5.5)
\nDangerous early before fading in the second half. Needs to find a way to avoid burnout and last for an entire 90. (Brian) \u2026 Great volleyed shot and worked hard to earn a good free kick. A few nice plays defensively as well, but faded offensively as the match wore on. (Sean)<\/p>\n

Rajko Lekic<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 3.25<\/strong> (Brian 3.5, Sean 3)
\nHad a couple of chances, but his tardy trigger once again betrays him. (Brian) \u2026 Awful awareness \u2013 offside far too much, killing some Revs attacks and his finishing was poor. (Sean)<\/p>\n

(sub) Sainey Nyassi<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 4.25<\/strong> (Brian 4.5, Sean 4)
\nPosed a mild threat on the wing, even in the sweltering temperatures. Missed opportunity to shine. (Brian) \u2026 Used his pace to look dangerous, but lost his composure after getting behind the defense and goalkeeper on Joseph\u2019s pass.\u00a0 Poor shot when he should\u2019ve passed. (Sean)<\/p>\n

(sub) Kenny Mansally<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 4.5<\/strong> (Brian 5, Sean 4)
\nWas fairly dangerous late. (Brian) \u2026 Failed to make much of an impact despite coming on against an exhausted defense. (Sean)<\/p>\n

(sub) Darrius Barnes<\/strong> \u2013 Average Rating: 4<\/strong> (Brian 4, Sean4)
\nSurprisingly casual in is natural center back position. Failed to keep address D.C.’s penchant for poking holes in the central defense. (Brian) \u2026 Failed to track his man on a few occasions. Either not sharp or not 90 minutes fit. (Sean)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
