Boston and Seacoast Settle for 0-0 Draw

Goalkeepers Jon Dawson and Jordan Bar kept their sheets spotless in Saturday’s 0-0 draw between the Victory and Phantoms at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Bar led the way with seven saves for Boston, while Dawson denied the Victory on four occasions as the scoreboard was given the night off.
The first half saw both teams struggle offensively, as Seacoast and Boston collected four shots through the first 45. But the second half was a different story entirely.
In the 50th minute, second half substitute Andrew Sousa ripped shot en route to the twine before Dawson deflected it wide. Zico Veiga followed up moments later with another shot that Dawson kept out of danger.
Seacoast tested Bar around the hour when Steve Palumbo sent a cross to Charlie Roche near the net. But Roche’s header died in the arms of the Boston keeper.
Minutes later, Palumbo, who collected five shots on frame Saturday, gave it a go from distance that initially escaped Bar before he quickly reclaimed it.
Palumbo fired it one final time in the waning minutes, but Bar stood stout once again to frustrate the Phantom forward.
Following Saturday’s draw, the Victory hit the road for a May 25 rematch against CFC Azul at East Haven High School in New Haven, Conn. The Phantoms return to Portsmouth High School on May 26 when they host the Ottawa Fury.
