In case you missed it, here’s what happened over the weekend for New England’s NPSL teams.
Saturday, May 26
In their first road game in franchise history, the Rhode Island Reds were rudely greeted by the New York Red Bulls in a 6-0 loss at New Jersey Institue of Technology in Newark.
Meanwhile, Mass United claimed a 3-1 win over the Brooklyn Italians at John Dewey High School in New York, NY. John Bovata (12′), Diego Zuniga (45′) and Luis Mattos (73′) all scored for the Riders while Jumol Harewood (90+1′) tallied for the Italians.
Sunday, May 27
A day after it claimed victory over the Italians, Mass United fell 2-1 to the Red Bulls. John Bovata scored his second goal in as many days, but the Riders ultimately fell to the divisional frontrunner.
