In a battle of MLS superpowers, Real Salt Lake took a trip to Jersey to face the Red Bulls, where the 90 minutes failed separate the sides. Greg Sutton and Nick Rimando kept their nets tidy to leave the scoreline 0-0.

Down in the Big D, San Jose and Dallas drew 2-2 at Pizza Hut Park. Jeff Larentowicz bookended the scoreline with goals in the 13th and 51st minutes. Milton Rodriguez scored in the 27th, while David Ferreira added another in the 37th to extend Dallas’ unbeaten streak to 19.

Meanwhile, in the nation’s capital, San Jose clinched its first playoff berth in its current incarnation with a 2-0 win over DC. Chris Wondolowski powered the Quakes with a pair of goals in the 45th and 55th minutes to lead them to the postseason promised land.

At CommunityAmerica Ballpark, Kansas City watched its playoff hopes take a beating as Seattle took a 2-1 victory against the Wizards. Sanna Nyassi and Alvaro Fernandez scored in the 66th and 78th minutes, respectively, while Davy Arnaud could only cut the lead in half with a penalty in the 84th as the Sounders punched their playoff ticket.

Lastly, Chivas USA succeeded in playing the spoiler with a 3-0 victory over Toronto FC. The Goats got goals from Jorge Flores (51′), Jesus Padilla (88′), and Rodolfo Espinoza (90′) as Toronto’s playoff hopes evaporated at the final whistle.
