CRANSTON, R.I. – Despite playing with a two-man advantage, it took a Wilder Arboleda 63rd minute goal to keep the Reds ahead in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Mass United FC at Cranston Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, a nine-man Mass United, who started two players short due to injuries, broke the scoreless tie when backup keeper-turned-midfielder Baboucarr Njie tallied in the 50th minute.
The Reds, however, responded with three unanswered goals from Mory Kaba (57′), Ousman Fofana (60′) and Arboleda. But Mass United, pulled one back late when Rigoberto Jimenez found the back of the net in the 79th minute.
With the win, the Reds finish their inaugural season with a 4-4-4 (16 points) record and a spot in the fourth slot of the Northeast Atlantic Conference. Mass United closes out its campaign with a 4-7-1 (13 points) mark and wrapped up the sixth spot.
