It wasn’t for lack of trying that Brown didn’t find the back of the net against Fairfield on Tuesday.
Despite outshooting the Stags (4-4-1) by a 19-1 margin after the interval, the 19th-ranked Bears (8-1-1) were forced to settle for a 0-0 double-overtime draw at Stevenson Field in Providence, R.I.
Fairfield keeper Michael O’Keeffe stopped 10 shots altogether to help his squad grind out the result. Brown keeper Sam Kernan-Schloss made a pair of saves to earn his fourth clean sheet of the season.
Kevin Gavey launched a team-high seven shots, four of which went on frame, for the Bears. Jon Clements collected three shots for the Stags, one of which tested Kernan-Schloss in the 29th minute.
The Bears return to action on Saturday when they hit the road to face Princeton in Princeton, N.J. The Stags will face Iona on Saturday in New Rochelle, N.Y.
