Breakers Bring in Sky Blue FC for Preseason Fixture

It’s been over two years since they last met on the field, but a pair of former WPS rivals will renew acquiantances on Wednesday.
In their first full preseason exhibition, the Boston Breakers will host Sky Blue FC at 6:15pm at Dilboy Stadium. Admission is free.
“I think this is the most important game for us this preseason,” Boston Breakers Head Coach Lisa Cole said in a statement. “We get to play one of the NWSL teams. Playing college teams and boys teams, and playing intersquad scrimmages, nothing replicates playing against this competition.”
It will be the first time the sides, who joined the newly-established National Women’s Soccer League, have met since a 2-0 Boston victory on Aug. 11, 2011. Sky Blue did not compete in top-flight soccer in 2012 following the demise of WPS.
Current Breakers midfielder Heather O’Reilly played for Sky Blue from 2009-11.
