Rhinos Wrap: Brettschneider Scores, Loanees See Action

Former Revolution striker Blake Brettschneider scored and all four Revolution loan players saw action as the Rochester Rhinos kicked off the USL-PRO regular season over the weekend.

Brettschneider came on in the 64th minute and scored in the 90th minute of Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the Orlando City Lions at the Florida Citrus Bowl. Revolution loanees Bilal Duckett and Gabe Latigue both started the game, while Matt Horth and Tyler Polak came on as second half substitutes.

Duckett, who was cautioned in the 39th minute, went the full 90, while Latigue went 38 minutes. Horth came on in the 46th minute, while Polak entered in the 65th minute, and was cautioned in the 70th minute.

Former Revolution first round pick Rob Valentino started at center back for Orlando City.

On Saturday, Brettschneider, Latigue, Polak and Duckett all started the Rhinos’ season opener, a game which they lost 3-0 to VSI Tampa FC.

The Rhinos return to action on Friday when they head to the Tar Heel State to face the Charlotte Eagles at 7:00pm.
