SNE Super League: AC Blaugrana Grabs Super Cup

TAUNTON, Mass. – Junior Alencar picked up a hat trick and Zico Veiga scored twice as AC Blaugrana powered past Dinamo Morabeza 6-1 in Saturday’s Southern New England Super League Super Cup tilt at Pepe Amaral Field.
Veiga kicked off the onslaught in the sixth minute, while Kyle Teixeira scored from the spot in the 21st minute. Dinamo’s Xon Dilson grabbed one back at the 31st minute before Veiga added his second in the 37th minute. But Alencar put the game out of reach by scoring in the 66th, 7oth and 83rd minute.
Dinamo midfielder Aulilio Gonçalves was sent off in the 82nd minute after he received cautions in the 18th and 82nd minutes.
The spirited clash pitted Blaugrana, the Cup winners, against Dinamo, who claimed the league championship.
Any thoughts of a defense-first title clash were dashed almost immediately after the opening whistle. Diego Tobares hustled down the right and with space to operate, cut into the area and chipped one off the bar before it was cleared out of danger in the first minute.
Veiga threatened five minutes later when he took an a route along the right identical to Tobares’ minutes earlier, but this time, the shot fell through to put Blaugrana in command early.
Tobares created havoc in the box in the 20th minute on a ball that he tried to corral neat the right post before Dinamo goalkeeper Olavo Monteiro brought him down. Seconds later, Teixeira stepped up to send it through from the spot.
Shortly after the half-hour mark, Dilson capitalized on a rare mistake when he pounced on a ball that spilled out of the grasp of goalkeeper Patrick Gerard and easily slipped it into an open net.
But Blaugrana reclaimed the two-goal advantage before halftime. From the right flank, Veiga powered a shot that traveled 25 yards before it lodged itself into the net at the 37th minute.
In the 59th minute, Alencar entered the game, and from there, it became a clinic in goalscoring as he tallied three times within a 17-minute span to allow his club to put it in cruise control en route to the victory.
