USL PRO: Soffner, Rhinos Fall in Opener

Revolution loanee Luis Soffner faced 14 shots, but couldn’t stop them all as the Rochester Rhinos dropped a 3-1 loss to MLS-bound Orlando City on Saturday at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Kissimmee, Fla.
Soffner, who was among three Revolution players loaned to Rochester last month, made four saves in his Rhino debut. The remaining Revolution loanees – Alec Sundly and Jossimar Sanchez – did not see action.
Former Revolution first round pick Rob Valentino scored Orlando City’s second goal in the 35th minute, while Kevin Molino and Dennis Chin bookended the scoring in the 3rd and 75th minutes, respectively. J.C. Banks secured Rochester’s only goal in the 54th minute.
The Rhinos will return to action on Apr. 11 against the Dayton Dutch Lyons at Beavercreek High School in Beavercreek, Ohio. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
