Regional Update: RB Rams Win; Reds, GLUFC Fall

A pair of Revolution Academy alumni scored before the interval to send the Real Boston Rams on their way to a season-opening 2-1 win over the Vermont Voltage on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy, Mass.
Dominik Machado kicked off the scoring with a third minutes strike while Fabio Machado made it a two-goal gap going into the interval. The ageless Bo Vuckovic tallied for Vermont in the 56th minute.
The Rams return to action on May 24 when they host the Montreal Impact U-23s at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7pm. The Voltage head home to face CFC Azul on May 24 at Applejack Field. Kickoff is set for 6:00pm.
RI Reds 1:2 Brooklyn Italians
Heading southbound along I-95, the Rhode Island Reds found a 90th minute goal from Dallas Donovan, but it wasn’t enough as the Brooklyn Italians grabbed a 2-1 win on Saturday at Cranston Stadium.
Yvener Guerrier scored twice for the Italians in the 45th and 90th minutes to secure all three points getting on a bus for the ride back to the Empire State.
The Reds will remain at Cranston Stadium on Saturday when they host the New York Red Bulls U-23s. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
New York Red Bulls U-23s 6:0 Greater Lowell United FC
Meanwhile, the Red Bulls U-23s handed Greater Lowell United FC a 6-0 loss on Saturday in New Jersey. The Green Dragons will be back on the pitch in pursuit of their first win on May 25 when they face the Red Bulls U-23s again, this time at Cawley Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5:05pm.
