FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Despite the cold, wintry conditions that have recently pummeled the region, the unofficial start of spring is less than two weeks away. For Revolution fans, at least.

The team will commence preseason training on January 31st and likely take place on the Gillette Stadium grounds, within the confines of the Dana Farber Fieldhouse. The January 31st date is one of the earliest start dates for preseason training among MLS clubs this season.

In addition to rostered players, the club regularly uses the preseason to invite trialists to compete for open positions. The training staff typically uses the first weeks of training to work on fitness drills and soccer-specific exercises before introducing inter-squad scrimmages and eventually traveling to a warmer climate for preseason matches against international or lower division teams as the regular season nears.

The team is expected to conduct open tryouts in late January or early February.
