Western Mass Pro Soccer (2-0-2, 8 points) continued its climb up the ASL table on Saturday with a convincing 5-0 win over AC Crusaders (2-3-0, 6 points) at Lusitano Stadium.

Will Daniels scored twice, while Luke Perry, Maxi Vieira and James Beeston all added to the hosts’ assault on the guests’ net. Goalkeeper Warren Gross posted his third consecutive clean sheet.

“I was very impressed by our team’s performance tonight,” Western Mass head coach Federico Molinari said in a team release. “Will, James, (Mike) Matera and Perry stood out on the scoreboard, but I am really proud of the team defense by keeping another shutout.”

Daniels opened the scoring in the 15th minute on a pass from Perry, and from there the rout was on. Perry added to the lead in the 19th minute, while Vieira followed up a minute later. Daniels added another before the half on a pass from Matera, and Beeston capped it in the 52nd minute.

With the win, Western Mass is only one of three teams to remain unbeaten through the league’s first five weeks.

The Lusitanos return to action on Saturday when they host the Rhode Island Oceaneers at Lusitano Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. Western Mass claimed a 2-0 victory over the O’s at Cranston Stadium on Sept. 13.
