Revs to face Crew in Tennessee

While the New England Revolution have yet to release their 2011 preseason plans, a few more specifics were unveiled by other sources today. The most recent news came today when Chattanooga F.C., a National Premier Soccer League team (4th division of American soccer), announced they will be hosting a match between the Revs and Columbus Crew in Chattanooga, TN on March 6th.

Chattanooga F.C. will host the friendly match at the 14 year old, 20,700 seat Finley Stadium. Prior reports have the Revolution and the Crew scheduled to play each other a second time later the same week in Atlanta, GA.

In 2010, the Revolution lost the season series with the Crew. New England lost to Columbus 3-2 on May 8, but earned a 2-2 draw during the home leg at Gillette Stadium on September 25.

The Revolution, who have significantly changed their roster since the end of last season, will be trialing their new players throughout the pre-season. Columbus has seen a similar change in their roster as well, but will have had an opportunity to test their players prior to the March 6th friendly, as they play Real Salt Lake in the CONCACAF Champions League on February 22nd and March 1st.

The Revolution will also reportedly play the Houston Dynamo on March 13th, though a time and location are still to be determined. New England kicks off the 2011 season in Los Angeles on March 20th and host DC United for their home opener on March 26th.
