NCAA: Providence, Dartmouth Earn Tourney Bids

Providence College and Dartmouth both earned bids to the D-1  NCAA College Cup Tournament after the field was set on Monday.

Providence, who won its first BIG EAST Championship in program history on Sunday, claimed a first-round bye as the 11th seed. They will face the winner of Thursday’s Fordham-Dartmouth clash in the second round on Sunday at the Ray Treacy Track and Field Complex in Providence, R.I. The Fordham-Dartmouth match will be played at Burnham Field in Hanover. N.H.

Dartmouth finished its campaign with an 11-4-2 record, claiming a share of the Ivy League title with Princeton. Providence recorded a 13-4-2 mark en route to its conference championship.

The College Cup Championship will be held at Wake Med Field in Cary, N.C. on Dec. 14.
