Academy Stars, GK Join Revs Camp

The Revolution released their latest preseason camp roster on prior to Wednesday’s preseason match against Real Salt Lake, and among the new names on the list are trialist goalkeeper Tomas Gomez, as well as Academy players Zach Herivaux and Justin Rennicks.
Gomez, 22, was selected by Columbus in the third-round of this year’s SuperDraft following a four-year collegiate career at Georgetown. He posted a 0.70 goals against average over the course of his four years (2011-14) with the Hoyas, and set the school record for career clean sheets (36). Gomez re-joins former Hoya teammates Steve Neumann and trialist Tyler Rudy on the preseason roster. He has not yet been assigned a jersey number.
Herivaux, 18, recently spent time with the Haiti U-20s in their quest to qualify for the U-20 World Cup. After a successful four seasons with the Revolution Academy, the central midfielder will play at Providence College in the fall. He has been assigned number 45.
Rennicks, 15, is coming off a successful stint with the U.S. U-16s at the Aegean Cup International Youth Tournament in Turkey last month. He scored in a 2-0 win over Romania on Jan. 20. He has been assigned number 46.
With the additions of Gomez, Herivaux and Rennicks, the Revolution preseason roster currently have 28 players in camp. Jermaine Jones remains in Los Angeles recovering from sports hernia surgery while Jerry Bengtson is out on loan to Belgrano (Argentina).
