Breakers to Face Jamaica for Preseason Friendlies
- Updated: March 18, 2015
The Boston Breakers will play a pair of preseason friendlies against the Jamaican Women’s National Team on Mar. 25 and 28 in Florida.
The Breakers, who started their preseason camp on Monday, will head to the Sunshine State next week for an eight-day stay that will start in Jacksonville. They’ll play their first match against the “Reggae Girlz” on Mar. 25 at 7 p.m. ET, at Flagler College in St. Augustine, just outside of Jacksonville.
After spending four days in Jacksonville, the club will head to Orlando for the final four days, and will play their second game against Jamaica on Mar. 28 at 7:30 p.m., at Central Winds Park in Winter Springs, on the outskirts of Orlando.
“We are excited we can play two quality games in Florida against a national team,” Boston Breakers general manager Lee Billiard said in a team release on Wednesday. “We see this as good preparation as we continue through preseason camp.”
The Breakers will open their regular season schedule on Apr. 11 against the Portland Thorns at Providence Park.
