FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Revolution (3-2-2, 11 points) will face Real Salt Lake (2-1-3, 9 points) for the only time during the regular season on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
Saturday’s contest is the first meeting between the interconference foes since last year’s Jul. 4 match at Rio Tinto Stadium, which Salt Lake won 2-1 thanks to not one, but two, penalty kick strikes.

What’s at stake? For the Revolution, it’s about extending their five-game unbeaten run, which has been built on sound defense (0 goals from the run of play since Mar. 15) and a timely offense (3 second half goals in their last two). Oh, and there’s also the fact that they haven’t beat Saturday’s adversary since 2009. For Salt Lake, it’s about figuring out a way to get the offense back into gear as they enter Saturday’s match on a 226 minute scoreless drought.
Biggest question? Can London Woodberry replicate the success he found on Sunday against the Union? If so, the Revolution have a strong chance of keeping Salt Lake off the board and seeing the same kind of offensive production we saw during the final half hour at PPL Park.
Noteworthy: A Revolution victory would put coach Jay Heaps’ career coaching record (43-43-23) over .500 for the first time.
Weather: For the Revolution first home game under the lights, conditions at Gilette Stadium are unseasonably cool, with temperatures in the low-50s with overcast skies. Fortunately, wind is not supposed to be a factor.
Referees: Ismail Elfath will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s contest. Petrescu’s last Revolution match was a 3-1 win for the locals over Sporting Kansas City on Sept. 3, 2014 at Gillette Stadium. Elfath issued six cautions in that match. Joining Elfath will be Eric Boria (AR1) and Corey Parker (AR2) while Robert Sibiga will serve as the fourth official.
