PDL: Phantoms Draw to Phoenix, Stay Unbeaten
- Updated: June 4, 2015
Seacoast United Phantoms fell short of claiming their fifth win in as many tries on Wednesday, but nevertheless kept their record unblemished following a 0-0 draw to GPS Portland Phoenix at Southern New Hampshire University in Hookset, NH.
Phoenix keeper Matthew Williams made four saves to keep the likes of Anthony Grant (two shots) and Francisco Cardona (two shots) off the board. Grant nearly broke through in the 89th minute on dangerous header, but Williams made an acrobatic save to deny him.
On the other end of the pithc, Phantoms keeper Dom Dimaggio stopped the only shot he faced to pick up his fourth clean sheet of the season.
The first-place Phantoms improved their record to 4-0-1 (13 points) while the second-place Phoenix saw their mark go to 1-1-2 (5 points).
The Phantoms will look to extend their perfect season on Jun. 13 when they face New York-based FA Euro Belson Stadium in Jamaica, NY. The Phoenix will attempt to narrow the gap between them and the Phantoms on Saturday when they meet Real Boston Rams at Milton High School in Milton, Mass.
