Jermaine Jones is listed as out on the latest Revolution injury report, which was released on Thursday ahead of the club’s contest at Portland.

Jones suffered a left groin strain just after the half hour mark during Sunday’s 2-2 draw to the Galaxy. He was forced to come off in the 35th minute.

After the match, he called the injury “really bad,” and said that the pain associated with was worse than it was prior to the sports hernia surgery he underwent in February. The procedure forced Jones to miss the Revolution’s first four games of the season.

On Wednesday, fellow midfielder Andy Dorman spoke to NESoccerToday.com about what Jones’ absence could have on the squad, which is about to embark on a nine-week stretch in which it’ll play seven times on the road.

“He’s been a big player for us, and we’re going to miss him,” Dorman said. “We just have to up our game from goalie to center forward, we need to be better.”

Jones is the only addition to the Revolution injury report. Darrius Barnes remains listed as out due after undergoing surgery on his left knee in April.
